Quorn Give Brakes That Hunted Feeling

Premier Quorn were always too good for Brakes Youth on a very good pitch in a pleasant setting deep in the Leicestershire countryside.

The first half was largely uneventful though both sides struck the bar, Quorn in the 37th for 'keeper Van der Heyden to save a shot on the rebound with his feet and a tremendous drive from Brakes' Lewis Scott, 15-year old brother of Lee, in the 43rd.

But Quorn opened the scoring in the 56th after a defensive error and then let their heads go down as Quorn added further goals in the 60th, 69th and 77th minutes.

There were some good touches from a well-beaten Brakes and it must be hoped that confidence is not too fractured before the first league game at home to Kenilworth Town on the 28th. This was a very good Quorn side who stroked the ball around impressively in the second half; hopefully young Brakes have learnt from the lesson they were given this evening.
