Lewis Stars in Youth Win

A 12:00 ko at Moreton Morrell and Brakes Youth, playing the Stockton 1st team, went 2-0 down with a poor first half display when they couldn't hold the ball and looked as if they'd only just met. A slight improvement just before half-time saw Stacey pull one back, 2-1.

Then Brakes started playing as a team, moving the ball up the wings, and it was no surprise when they equalised through Ryan Howell then went ahead from a superb Chris Lewis strike when he ran through powerfully, drew the goalkeeper and slammed a cross shot into the net, 3-2.

Kyriacou was trying his heart out for Brakes and Johal had a superb game in defence with Rockcliff showing well down the wing. But most impressive of all, hard, skilful, strong and (unbelievably) only 15, Chris Lewis made the game his own and struck another superb goal for Brakes' winner.

Leamington Starters: Lee van der Heyden; Harj Johal; Stuart Poole; Tim Green; Lee Scott; James Mellings; Seb Rockcliff; Mark Beezley; Neil Stacey; Nik Kyriacou; Nick Collen
Subs, All Used: Ryan Howell; Chris Lewis; Adam Butcher; Lee Barton; Jimmy Claridge.
