| LEAMINGTON 3 v BEDWORTH UNITED 2 Friendly |
Sat 27 Jul 02 |
By Roger VincentNicholls Back to Scoring WaysA good performance against lacklustre Bedworth saw Brakes go 3-0 up and the defence play well to restrict Bedworth's chances. The first goal, in the 18th, followed a Paul Nicholls penalty rammed home after Si Wickson was floored in the area. Nicholls went close again with a header in the 28th but scored within seconds of the second half start. Two minutes later, in the 48th, Shearsby latched on to a Webb through ball to drive hard and low into the corner, 3-0. With both teams using their substitutes Bedworth pulled one back in the 72nd and notched a second in the last minute shortly after Andy Gregory was forced to leave the field with what looked like a nasty, ankle injury, Jonny Burgess substituted earlier, coming back on in his place. Leamington: Umbi Sidhu, Jonny Burgess (Daz Timms 57), Mark Rowland, Andy Gregory (Jonny Burgess 87), Andy Crabtree (Andy Dix 69), Baz Shearsby, Simon Wickson (Liam McGovern), Glen Webb, Brian Agar (Nick Mort 46), Paul Nicholls, Steve Thompson [Capt.] |
