Battling Brakes Earn Point

Brakes started well and were unlucky to go 1 down on 15 minutes after a rare Redditch attack but with Redditch coming back into the game it was Brakes who equalised on about the half hour mark through a Wilkinson strike, a just reward for their earlier pressure. With the game settling into an even contest Redditch seized on a defensive error on the stroke of half-time to go into the break at 2-1 up.

On about 55 Stacey swept in the equaliser after good work and a cross from Wilkinson on the right. The game opened up and could have gone either way with Brakes' goalie Van der Hayden pulling off 2 superb saves. But Brakes also had chances to win against a very good, older Redditch side and can be pleased with an excellent, hard-fought point.
